I have been doing a project about how Chinese immigrants adapted to the life in America but preserve their traditions and culture at the same time. Here are some of the photos I took in Chinatown. I’m not Chinese American or a Chinese immigrant. I’m just interested in how people, no matter their ethnicity, moving to a new country and having to face many challenges in their new surroundings.

The world is so interconnected. It is amazing to see cultural adaptation in different countries. Hopefully one day all kinds of discriminations will disappear and we can respect our differences.

Photos taken in Chinatown, Manhattan, NY.
